Call for Participation: Deep Learning Summer School
The University of Cologne’s Competence Area III, in conjunction with the Center for Data and Simulation Science, the Department for Digital Humanities, the Cologne Center for eHumanities, and the Data Center for the Humanities is organizing a Summer School on “Deep Learning for Language Analysis”, which will take place
September 5th – 9th, 2022, at Cologne University (on site).
The summer school addresses MA students and doctoral candidates from Linguistics and Digital Humanities, as well as other fields that are involved with the application of machine learning techniques.
The summer school will be kicked off with a keynote given by Sina Zarrieß (University of Bielefeld) [1].
Participants can choose between two alternative tracks:
Deep Learning with Audio & Speech Data, given by Paul Wallbott (Fraunhofer IAIS)
Text Analysis with Deep Learning, given by Nils Reiter (UoC) [2]
Subsequently, a hands-on course on “Building Conversational AI Applications” will be provided by the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute [3]. Here you can earn an additional certificate.
Application Deadline is June 24th. The Summer School will take place on site in Cologne.
